It’s been a little while since I had time to sit down and update this blog, so lets get back into the swing of things by celebrating the amazing work, the talented folks in
the VFX industry produce. And what better way to start than with an incredible breakdown from our friends across the pond. The below clip is from Atomic Fiction (who you may remember from a previous post on “Looper” – click here) showcasing their work on the impressive “Flight.”
I’m sure I’m not alone in saying that, even though I am surrounded by 3D in my working life, it still amazes me to see these breakdowns and the breadth of hidden work involved in creating these shots.
It probably comes as no surprise to hear that the work from Atomic Fiction’s talented team won a Satellite Award for Best Visual Effects in 2012, and was nominated for a 2012 VES Award for Outstanding Supporting Visual Effects in a Feature Motion Picture.

Do you have any breakdowns or projects you want to share that use Maya, 3ds Max, Smoke or Softimage? If yes, then please email me the link and description, so we can all marvel at the skill in our industry.
Jamie.
