It’s Tuesday, and this Tuesday is special, as it’s NSM Day* or National Snail Making* Day, I thought I would share this great breakdown from Paris based, Unit Image. A specialist 3d animation and VFX creative studio who I strongly recommend you keep an eye on. They consistently produce some amazing work.
The clip I wanted to share with you is a break-down for the Cannes Lion Animation 2011, Sequoia, Testimony of a Snail. The amount of character and personality they inject into this slimy little creature is admirable. As you would expect from Unit Image, the clip is technically brilliant, however for me the breakdown highlights how some of the 3d solutions are as creative as the final animation. (Look out for the shell slime.)
