Even though I work for Autodesk, I can still miss important updates for software, and todays blog post highlights one such update that quietly slipped past me recently.
I therefore wanted to make sure you are all aware of this latest news of a new version of Backburner, for your 2013 flavours of software.
The Backburner 2013.0.2 Windows version now supports the Unicode versions of 3ds Max /3ds Max Design 2013. It is also good to know that the -perserver option now works with cmdjob.exe (Max’s command line rendering).
Please note that you must uninstall your existing Backburner and install the ‘Max’ 2013 Product Update 3 (or newer) prior to installing Backburner 2013. This ensures it will work properly with Unicode. You can find the latest updates here for 2013.
If you are using a previous version of localized 3ds Max / Design 2011 and 2012 with Backburner 2013, you can only use ASCII characters for Job names or Output Paths.
You can use the following supported operating systems (OS) for the 2013.0.2 version of Autodesk’s Backburner:
Windows XP Professional (SP2 +) OS
Windows XP Professional x64 (SP2 +) OS
Windows 7 Professional OS
Windows 7 Professional x64 OS
Mac OS: You can run Backburner on a Mac with either Boot Camp or via Parallels Desktop for Mac, provided certain system requirements are met. Refer to the 3ds Max 2013 and 3ds Max Design 2013 Installation Guide for further details (found on the product media).
