It appears that this blog didn’t auto-release yesterdays quicktip, as it should have, so by way of saying sorry, here is a Bonus Quicktip. Luckily Twitter did release the tip, so I haven’t broken my promise of 100 tips in 100 days. This small scheduling issue, should now be resolved.
You can find yesterdays 'missing' tip here.
Now lets move onto the bonus tip: When using the SLATE material editor I often get asked, how to quickly find a node in the editor. The easiest way is to navigate to the below ‘binoculars’ (Search for nodes) icon and type the name of the material you are trying to find.
1. With SLATE open, navigate to the below highlighted icon and click.
2. This will expand a new text field box. Type the name of the material, or materials you wish to find:
3. Whilst typing, SLATE, will highlight the material names, which fall into your search criteria. Once finished typing the name, or part-name, press the green box icon at the front of the text field (or press the Enter/Return key), and this will then zoom to the selected nodes.
Happy Max’ing
